• The CLA byte is wrong for this card — EMV commands use CLA 00 (interindustry, e.g. SELECT, READ RECORD, VERIFY) or 80 (proprietary, e.g. GPO and GENERATE AC); issuer script commands with secure messaging use 84 or 8C. Check the command header.
