What it is
The Kernel 8 Kernel Qualifier is an 8-byte element specific to the unified EMVCo Kernel 8 (C-8): byte 1 version, byte 2 local-authentication flag, byte 3 the selected Secure Channel Algorithm Suite Indicator, bytes 4–6 the supported certificate ASIs, bytes 7–8 RFUReserved for Future UseBits or bytes with no current meaning, reserved by the spec; they must be set to zero. — the parameters Kernel 8 uses to set up its authenticated, optionally encrypted contactless session. (Layout as in Book C-8 v1.1 Annex A; not yet cross-checked against an independent Kernel 8 implementation.)
